Police sergeant shot last night in Belize City

By BBN Staff:  Police are investigating the shooting of a police sergeant that happened last night in Belize City.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 10:30 PM.

Police visited the K.H.M.H.  where they saw Shawn Walton, 43, a Belizean Sergeant of the Belize Police Department with a gunshot wound to the left forearm and an abrasion to the left side of the abdomen.

 Walton reported that about 10 p.m., while he was on Victoria Street in his vehicle, he heard about four gunshots and realized that he had been shot in the left arm.

 Walton was transported to the K.H.M.H. where he was admitted in a stable condition.

Police are investigating.
