PUP hosts another round of conventions

BBN Staff: The opposition, People’s United Party (PUP) held a contested convention yesterday to elect a Standard Bearer for the Orange Walk East Division.

A total of 1,778 voters went to the polls at the Lousiana Government School in Orange Walk town.

Yesterday, Marconi Leal was endorsed as the Standard Bearer for Belize Rural North at his endorsement convention held in San Hill village.

The PUP will host another contested convention, on Sunday, June 17 in the Albert Division in Belize city between senators Valerie Woods and Paul Thompson.

This convention will be held at the Anglican Cathedral College with polls opening at 9:00 a.m. and closing at 4:00 p.m.
