Man shot dead near Pacheco’s jewelry shop in Belize City

BBN Staff: A shooting in Belize City minutes ago has left one person dead.

BBN can confirm that one man opened fire on a Hispanic descent man near Pacheco’s jewelry shop on East Collet Canal.

Neighbors told BBN they heard multiple shots fired.

The slain man has been transported to the morgue while the suspected shooter has been detained by police.

According to reliable sources this shooting is not gang related. However, the motive is not yet known.

BBN will release the identities of the victim and alleged shooter in a subsequent story.
