1 dead, 2 injured in fatal traffic accident on the Philip Goldson Highway

BBN Staff: On Wednesday evening around 4:00, a fatal traffic accident in Rhaburn Ridge Village between miles 33 and 34 on the Philip Goldson Highway, took the life of Lemi Rosa De Jesus Ewan, a 43-year old nurse from Orange Walk.

When police arrived on the scene, they saw a Blue Suzuki SUV with an Orange Walk license plate on the left-hand side of the road and in the bushes extensively damaged to the front and top.

The driver of the SUV, Lemi Rosa De Jesus Ewan received sustainable injuries to the head and body and was dead on the scene.

Investigations revealed that Rosa De Jesus was driving the SUV from Crooked Tree Village in the direction of Rhaburn Ridge Village, when she then lost control of the vehicle causing it to turn over multiple times. As a result she was flung out of the car.

Inside the vehicle with her were also two minors who are believed to be her children, 12-year old Christopher Ewan and 9-year old Austria Salam, however, they only received minor injuries and were treated and released from the hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
