Jose Villanueva shot and killed by businessman after argument

By BBN Staff:  Police are investigating the murder of a man from Santa Elena town yesterday.

According to reports, around 5:40, police responded to a report of a shooting at No. 68 East Collet Canal, Belize city.

There, police saw the lifeless body of fifty year old Jose Manuel Villanueva with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.

Police investigations revealed that around 5:30, Villanueva was in his yard when he got into an argument with businessman, Manuel Pacheco.

Pacheco then fired several shots at him causing his injuries.

Villanueva was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body awaits a post-mortem examination.

Police investigation continues.
