Man shot while socializing in Corozal

BBN Staff:  Corozal police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in Calcutta village.

The incident occurred on June 13, around 8:45 p.m.

Francisco Armando Alvarez, 59, a security guard reported that while standing behind a pick-up, he saw two men exiting from behind the nearby supermarket.

One of the men began shooting towards his direction and as a result, Alvarez returned fire.

One of the bullets caught Phillip Rancharan who was socializing in front of the supermarket.

Rancharan was hit to his leg.

Police are investigating.
