Man dies after being struck by lightning

By BBN Staff: A resident of Shipyard village in Orange Walk was struck by lightning yesterday morning.

Isac Weibe reported to police that around 10:40 am, his brother Jacob Weibe,22, was working on a barbed wire fence under the rain when he was stroke by lightning.

Jacob fell to the ground and became unresponsive.

He was then transported to the Northern Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body now awaits a post-mortem examination.
