Man found guilty of murdering 11-year-old boy

Accused murder, Andrew Willoughby, was today found guilty in the Supreme Court.
His fate was decided by Justice Marilyn Williams in a trial without a jury.

He will be sentenced on July 17 of this year and was represented by Leroy Banner.

Willougby was charged with murder after Daniel Matura, an eleven-year-old boy was shot during a crossfire in May 2012.

Matura was shot in his chest, back and hand. He died on the spot.

Initially, Willoughby had told police that street figure, Brandon Taylor, and Roy Bennett rode up to the Matura’s home on Central American Boulevard.

According to him, Taylor pointed a handgun at them and said, “I will kill all of you.”

Willoughby ran inside the house, recovered a firearm and opened fire at Taylor who escaped unharmed.

However, an innocent child would be the casualty of this war.
