By BBN Staff: Yesterday, a ceremony was held by the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture at the Bliss Institute in Belize City to commemorate the excellent performance of students who placed in the top 25 of the Primary School Examination (PSE).
Students who placed in the top 10 of their respective districts were also honored with an award.
The Office of the Special Envoy congratulated Asher Leslie, a student of Ephesus S.D.A School in Belize City, who received special recognition yesterday. He is considered to be an extremely bright, respectful and vibrant student.
Although laden with physical limitations, and with assistance from the National Resource Center for Inclusive Education (NARCIE), he was able to sit the PSE and achieve the highest score among all Standard 6 students who received assistance from this service. Asher also scored the second highest among his peers at school.
The Office of the Special Envoy proudly highlights Asher Leslie and hopes that others view his achievement as a special testament to other children with disabilities that with hard work and dedication, anything is achievable.
Asher also received a special presentation by Diana Fuller, owner of Fultec Systems.
