Police: San Narciso businessman was kidnapped

Posted: Thursday, June 21, 2018. 7:05 pm CST.

By BBN Staff:  Police have now officially ruled the missing case of San Narciso businessman, Homero Campus, as kidnapping after reports were made of a ransom being demanded for his return.

As BBN previously reported, on Sunday, Campus left his house to go to his farm located between San Narciso and San Victor villages in the Corozal District and he never returned back home.

It has now been 96 hours since his disappearance and police officers are reportedly on the ground canvassing to see what information they can gather to further assist with locating and returning him home safely.

When asked if they were certain that Campos was still alive, A.C.P Joseph Myvette stated that they cannot say with certainty if he is still alive, but two days ago he spoke to his wife and he was in good spirit and health.

Myvette also revealed that Mexican authorities have been enlisted to further assist with the investigation because whether Campus is being held captive in Belize or Mexico is unknown.

However, authorities could not provide additional information to the media at this time in fear that the investigators’ operational strategy might be revealed to Campus’ kidnappers.

Investigations are ongoing.
