Taiwan donates $24,000 to the Ministry of Agriculture

By BBN Staff:  Today, the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) made a donation of BZ$24,000.00 to the Department of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, the Environment, Sustainable Development and Immigration, to support the renovation of a building used as an office and conference room at the Research, Development & Innovation Center located in Central Farm, Cayo District.

The renovation project will improve the working environment of the employees, which will further strengthen the delivery of service to the farmers and stakeholders in the country under bilateral cooperation programs with the Republic of China (Taiwan).

The contribution will also assist in the procurement of construction and maintenance equipment.

The Republic of China (Taiwan) has been implementing bilateral cooperation projects with Belize since 1989.
