By BBN Staff: It has now been five days since San Narciso businessman, Homero Campos, 43, went missing.
On Sunday, Campos left home to go to his farm located between San Narciso and San Victor villages in the Corozal district.
Campos has not been seen since. On Sunday around 6:30 p.m., Campos’ brother Jairo told police that he received an anonymous call and said the person on the other end demanded one million dollars in ransom money to return Campos home.
Campos’ family fears that he may have been harmed by the assailant/s.
The Belize Police Department is actively investigating this matter as a kidnapping case.
Yesterday, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams informed that on Tuesday, the family spoke to Campos and he was in good spirit and good health. “ I know that 2 days ago his wife spoke with him and he was in good spirit and good health. So we are hoping and we are praying that he is alive and we are trying or best to return him safely to his family,” Williams said.
Belize police are also now working with Mexican authorities since it is uncertain if the businessman is being held in Belize or across the border.
