By BBN Staff: The National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) through the Museum of Belize and the San Ignacio Santa Elena House of Culture is excited to showcase the dynamic and inspiring art of Dr. Ludwig Palacio.

“Peini Soul” will feature 33 figurative and abstract paintings, sculptures and hand made crafts by Dr. Palacio exploring the universal themes of love, romance, peace, environment, culture and community.

Dr. Palacio is a veterinary doctor, writer, poet, sculptor, painter, appropriate technologist, craftsman and published author.

He enjoys teaching young people how to develop their artistic talents and has a keen eye for beauty and creativity.

His early influences are rooted in the Garifuna culture, a combination of African and Native Amerindian.

Palacio began taking his talents seriously in the year 2000 when he produced his first wood sculpture: The Statue of Unity.

At that time, he cemented himself in his true passion, the creation of paintings, carvings and the sculpting of abstract art.

The “Peini Soul” exhibit at the San Ignacio Santa Elena House of Culture opens to the public at 7:00 p.m. on Monday June 25.
