By BBN Staff:  An 18-year-old man is lucky to be alive after he was shot in his chest and jaw last night. 

He is Tyrese Smith, a resident of La Democracia village. 

According to police , sometime after 8 o’clock last night he was walking in the village with relatives when two men on bicycle rode up to him. 

He exchanged words with the men briefly before one of them pulled out a gun and opened fire.  

He was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) where he is listed in a stable condition. 

Police say that no motive is yet known and no one has been detained.
