Exemplary Educator, Manuel Medina retires

By BBN Staff: Exemplary Educator, Manuel Medina is retiring from Belize’s education sector. 

Teacher, principal and Belize National Teachers Union (BNTU) Cayo President, Medina has served as a teacher for 38 years. 

In 2001, Medina moved to join the community at Santa Elena Primary School where he has contributed to the continuous development and improvement of the teachers and students. 

Medina has been an inspiration for many students and teachers that he has imparted knowledge to.  Medina leaves the Primary School with a legacy of his outstanding leadership. 

One of the teachers at Santa Elena Primary School, Adilia Pech, said that Medina is a leader to be admired for his strength and motivation, ” From milestones and targets to motivation and progress. From failures and setbacks to moving ahead and success. You stood with us through all, your leadership was what gave us strength. All the best Mr. Medina.” 

Many students (past and present), staff members and parents took to social media to express their profound gratitude to Medina for his invaluable contributions to education in Belize and his dedication to thousands of Belizean students.
