Police: 3 Guatemalans escape from Kolbe Foundation

By BBN Staff:  Between 1 and 3 a.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2018, three Guatemalan prisoners that were in the Remand Rehab Center at the Kolbe Foundation escaped by prying loose the louver windows of the dorm they were staying in.

The men have been identified as Ronnie Lopez, 31, and  Abraam De Paz, 23, both of Corozal Dos Dolores, Peten, Guatemala and  Encarnarnacion De Paz, 41,  of San Marcos Dolores, Peten, Guatemala.

The three men were in prison for keeping an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, and illegally entering Belize.

Operations are ongoing in order to capture the individuals and checkpoints are being set up in the western part of the country.
