By BBN Staff: After months of speculation, our newsroom has been able to confirm several political theories.

The first being that Prime Minister Dean Barrow will not be seeking re-election and will instead pass the torch on to his sister, Denise “Sister B” Barrow.

Sister B, considered the Prime Minister’s campaign manager in Queen Square has already received her public endorsement.

Last year he told the press, “…as far as I am concern I have publicly endorsed my sister who is really the one has been running the constituency and who is really the one that certainly won the last two elections pretty much on her own.”

He conceded, “This last election I don’t think I visited one home. I didn’t have to go to one constituent…it was all Sista B. That is her life and I don’t see how I could ever endorse anybody other than Sista B.”

Barrow first entered electoral politics in 1983 as a councilor candidate for the United Democratic Party (UDP) in Belize City.

One year later after that victory, he ran for the Queens Square Division in the General Elections which he won and became a Cabinet Minister of the Manuel Esquivel Administration.

However, his party lost the 1989 General Elections but he remained in the House of Representatives and was elevated to Deputy Party Leader by 1990 when Curl Thompson passed away.

In 1993 the UDP tasted victory again but would spend 1998-2008 in Opposition.

Since 2008 Barrow has dominated Belize’s political landscape winning three consecutive elections as Prime Minister.

He is expected to retire after this term and so by the end of 2019, the transition period is set to begin.

If documents leaked to BBN are credible, Sister B, will have no challengers and will instead be endorsed in an internal party convention.
