Posted: Tuesday, July 3, 2018. 10:00 a.m. CST.

By BBN Staff: The Ministry of National Security (MNS) will be hosting a Citizen Security Summit on July 18 at the Belize city Civic Center.

The summit will provide a forum for stakeholders and other interest groups to examine existing national security policies, strategies, and plans as well as to identify possible solutions to Belize’s unique law enforcement challenges.

The participants will be tasked to identify feasible, acceptable, and suitable solutions on the issue of citizen security.

These solutions will be used to influence existing and future citizen security policies and plans for Belize.

The Crime Control Council’s motto states that “Crime is a Community Problem and requires a Community Solution”. It is with this in mind that the Ministry of National Security invites all segments of civil society, including the corporate sectors, who want to engage in meaningful discussion in effecting solutions to social like violence, crime, and social disorder, to come out and participate in the Citizen Security Summit.
