Bus driver chopped in the face; loses eyesight

BBN Staff:  Belmopan police are investigating a chopping incident that occurred last week Thursday.

Arnulfo Munoz, 25, a Guatemalan bus driver and resident of Armenia Village told police that on Thursday, July 5, 2018, around 2 pm, he was driving a workers bus from Santander Cane Factory to Armenia Village on the Hummingbird Highway, and upon reaching around mile 50, an unknown man traveling on the bus informed him that he would get off in front of Funez Bar.

Shortly thereafter, Munoz felt a sharp impact to the right side of his face and realized that he had been chopped.

The man then made good his escape.

Munoz’ injury was classified as maim due to the fact that he lost his vision in the right eye.

Police investigation continues.
