‘No Plastic, No Styrofoam Kids Summer Camp’ in Bullet Tree Village, Cayo

BBN Staff:  The Minister of State with responsibility for Fisheries, Forestry, the Environment and Sustainable Development, Omar Figueroa joined villagers from Bullet Tree Falls in the Cayo District for the launch of the first ‘No-Plastic No-Styrofoam Kids Summer Camp’.

The camp was launched yesterday with fifty children from Bullet Tree Village.

The camp is designed to be a highly interactive, hands-on, community-based education and awareness program.

It will include environmentally-focused activities in areas of creative arts, theatre, music, artistic recycling, and photography.

The activities will be facilitated by specialists from Mexico, Guatemala, Argentina, and Russia.

At the end of each week, the children will be visit different protected areas in Belize.

The camp will conclude on July 29, 2018.
