Belize City man charged for murder of Alberto Vargas

By BBN Staff:  Today, police charged twenty-four-year old Belize City resident, Nisani Daniel Garcia for the murder of Alberto Vargas Jr.

Vargas was executed around 8 on Tuesday night while he waited for the driver of the vehicle he was in, who had been purchasing food.

Garcia was reportedly picked up by the driver Jose Medina and was seated behind Vargas.

Medina was at a food stall when he heard a commotion between the two passengers and then gunshots rang out.

When Medina returned to the vehicle, he saw Vargas suffering from gunshot wounds.

He took Vargas to the Northern Regional Hospital where he died shortly thereafter.
