By BBN Staff: The Belize Police Department, yesterday, held its Long Service Awards Ceremony at the Birds Isle basketball court in Belize city, to honor its police officers and civil staff who have dedicated a decade or more of their lives to public service.
Commissioner of Police, Allen Whylie, attended the ceremony along with other senior members of police brass including Deputy Commissioner, Edward Broaster; ACP Dezerie Magdaleno; ACP Robert Mariano; the Eastern Division Commander; senior and junior police officers, special constables, and civilian employees and other invited guests.
The ceremony was a fun filled one, with police corporals, Aaron Ferguson and Jenny Bonilla serving as the master and mistress of ceremony.
During their day of appreciation, the officers had the opportunity to win numerous raffles from sponsors including Atlantic Bank, St. John’s Credit Union, Radisson Hotel and Marina, Chaa Creek Resort, Tropic Air and Belize Telemedia Limited.
Around 300 officers who contributed between 10 and 20 years of service in the field received an award of recognition for their dedication.
