Corozal House of Culture to host Ancient World Week

BBN Staff: The National Institute of Culture and History (NICH), through the Corozal House of Culture, the Institute of Archaeology and Northwestern University, will be hosting “Ancient World Week” in Corozal town from Monday, July 16 to Thursday, July 19.

All interested persons are invited to participate in the 3rd annual Ancient World Week event to be held at the Corozal House of Culture.

This collaborative effort is organized to raise interest and awareness of the Maya culture in northern Belize featuring a site visit to Aventura to view the ongoing excavation and presentations at the Corozal House of Culture on various topics including:

Ancient Maya Trade
New Research at Aventura
Historic Archaeology in the Corozal District
Ancient Pok ta Pok of the Maya
Archaeology Q & A with Dr. Cynthia Robin

Students, teachers, tour guides and the general public is invited to register in advance for this free event as space is limited.

This is an opportunity to engage with archaeologists and explore the various aspects of the Maya and Corozal’s Archaeology.
