Police arrest man for burglarizing a San Pedro Resort

By BBN Staff: Yesterday, police responded to a burglary report at the Portofino Resort in San Pedro, where Raul Rodriguez, manager to the resort, notified authorities that between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m., their main office was broken into.

He revealed to police that two of their company’s safe was stolen containing a combined total of $16,000 in both Belize and U.S. currencies.

Police quickly processed the scene, and as a result, a man living a few blocks from the resort was detained.

Police discovered $9,000 in his possession which is suspected to be from the safe. The safes were also found close to where he was arrested.

Police investigation is ongoing.
