Summer camp concludes at Yarborough

BBN Staff: Children and youths countrywide are engaged in summer programs and vacation classes.

The Ministry of Human Development, Social Transformation and Poverty Alleviation this week saw the conclusion of the CYDP Youth sports camp.

The Conscious Youths Development Program (CYDP) is supported by the Community Rehabilitation Department in the Ministry.

Over 100 youths aged 8-15 years participated in the two-week camp at the Yarborough Green.

The camp was held from July 2 to 13, 2018.

 The camp used football and basketball to teach youths valuable life skills and concluded with a competition where they had to use the skills acquired over the course of the camp.

 The participants were awarded with trophies, medals and school supplies for their efforts.

The Department has several more summer activities planned for youths including a Trek at Camp Oakley and another Sports Camp at ITVET.
