Convenience store robbed at gunpoint in Corozal District

BBN Staff: On Tuesday, July 17, 2018, shortly after 4 p.m., police received information of a robbery that occurred at a convenience store around mile 69 on the Philip Goldson Highway which is a remote area between the villages of Buena Vista and Santa Clara in the Corozal District.

According to police reports, four armed men dressed in dark clothing entered the establishment and demanded money from the cashier.

An undisclosed amount of money was handed over and the robbers then made their escape in the nearby bushes.

Police are following several leads from information that was gathered after the scene was processed.

Authorities are also investigating a robbery that occurred the day before at San Fa Construction Store which is located just a few miles away from the convenience store. Police reportedly believe that the incidents are related.

Police investigation are ongoing.
