Woman shot in Punta Gorda Town

BBN Staff: Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred last night in Punta Gorda Town, Toledo District.

According to reports, around 8:55 last night, Renita Jackson, 23, was sitting at the corner of Far West Street and Church Street with her common-law husband and another person when two men on bicycles approached them.

Both men had their faces covered with rags and they both fired several shots in Jackson’s direction.

Jackson sustained gunshot injuries to her right hip and a wound to her right leg.

Jackson was taken to the hospital and is listed in a stable condition.

Police are investigating.
