By BBN Staff:  On July 20, 2018, alleged murderers Travis Navarro, 24, and Troy Hyde, 30, were released on bail by Justice Antoinette Moore.

Navarro is accused of killing Rajiv Gonguez, 21, on North Front Street, Belize City, after Gonguez reportedly went to pick up a neighbor at the Brown Sugar Market Place in May 2013.
Having been remanded for the past 5 years, Navarro was granted bail on Friday at $10,000 and has since been released with the condition that he appears in the Supreme Court before Justice Marilyn Williams by September 18, 2018.
Navarro is also to report to the Belmopan police station every Tuesday and Thursday, and is not to interfere with any of the prosecution’s witnesses. Lastly, he is not to be charged with any other offenses while on bail.
He was represented by attorney Tricia Anderson yesterday at court.
Hyde, however, was granted bail of $15,000 by Justice Moore. He was allegedly charged for the murder of Kareem Lopez, 26, a prominent gang figure, in January 2015. Lopez was reportedly shot and killed while purchasing food on Central American Boulevard.
His death was believed to have been a result of a turf war that had ensued over the Jane Usher area.
