Teen runs away in Independence Village; Police seek help finding her

By BBN Staff: Police in Independence Village have asked the community for help finding Novalee Mendez, a 16-year-old girl who reportedly ran away from home on July 20.

According to reports, Felicia Williams, 35, of Independence reported to authorities that on July 20, 2018, about 8:30 p.m., her daughter ran away from home and did not return.

Mendez is a student of Independence High School and is about 5 feet 4 inches in height.

She was last seen wearing a brown and white spotted blouse and blue leggings along with a pair of black sandals.

Anyone who sees Mendez or may have information regarding her whereabouts is asked to call the nearest police station.
