By BBN Staff:  Today, the United States Embassy in Belize via it’s official Facebook page announced the arrival of Keith Gilges, the Embassy’s new Chargé d’ Affaires.

Gilges is a career Foreign Service Officer.  Most recently, he was detailed to the National Security Council at the White House where he served as the Director for North America overseeing interagency policy development involving Canada and Mexico.

“I am excited to be in the ‘Jewel’ and am looking forward to getting to know the country and to meeting as many Belizeans as possible over the next three years. I will work to continue and deepen the already warm and productive relationship between the United States and Belize,” Gilges stated.

Gilges professional profile includes service at the United States Department of State as well as a former Deputy Chief of Mission in Trinidad and Tobago.

Gilges takes over from Chargé d’ Affaires, Adrienne Galanek who served as the Deputy Chief of Mission since 2016.

Gilges holds a Master of Science in Environmental Management (with distinction) from the University of Hong Kong, and a Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary in Virginia.

The United States Embassy continues with its programs in partnership with the Government and people of Belize to enhance citizen security, improve economic prosperity and good governance.
