By BBN Staff: Rotarians across Belize were excited to host Rotary’s President, Barry Rassin and his wife, Esther Rassin on their 3-day visit to the country.

The couple arrived on July 24, 2018, for a fun-filled packed itinerary with Rotary members of Belize.

Rotary Belize says that the visit of the President is a great honor since the last sitting President to visit the country was Joseph Abey, which was 56 years ago.

The memorable 3 days of fellowship began on Tuesday, July 24 with a welcome dinner held in honor of the President and his wife at the Belize Biltmore Plaza Hotel. Rassin spoke of the magnitude of the work done by Rotarians across the world and the positive impact of Rotary in countries like Belize.

Rotary Clubs across Belize were delighted to host Rassin. Yesterday, the President and his wife toured the Lamanai archeological reserve in Orange Walk. They were joined by members of Rotary’s Sunrise in Belize.

A farewell luncheon is being hosted today in Belize City to thank them for visiting Belize.

In a statement issued by Rotary Belize, they expressed their gratitude by saying, “ It’s been a most memorable few days. Thank you sincerely to all who have supported and helped us along the way.”

There are 10 Rotary clubs in Belize and at least one Rotaract club in every district.

Rotary is represented in high schools with interact clubs.
