By BBN Staff: On Friday afternoon an armed robbery unfolded in open view less than half mile away from the Belama police sub station and check point.
Jaimie Dominguez, a project manager for Usher’s Construction reported he was traveling to Belama with $18,000 to pay construction employees.
However, he stopped on Apollo street to pick up his mother and while driving away, a gray vehicle swerved in front of him making it difficult for him to pass.
Four armed assailants then got out of the vehicle, opened his doors then collected a bag carrying $18,000 and some personal effects.
The robbers then sped off.
Today Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Alejandro Cowo, told the press, “We don’t have any suspects.”
He said police believe a gang may be responsible for the crime.
He added that employees at the job site have also been interviewed, along with Dominguez.
Although the incident was caught on camera, Cowo revealed that the image was not clear. Police have no tangible leads in the case so far.
