Hit and run victim clinging to life in Corozal

BBN Staff: Armando Witz, 31, is lucky to be alive after a vehicle traveling at high speed knocked him down.

Sometime after 8:00 p.m. yesterday, he was traveling on his bicycle in a west to east direction when he was struck from behind by a Kia Sorento SUV.

Witz was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition while his bicycle was extensively damaged.

The driver of the vehicle sped off without rendering aid to the badly injured Witz.

Fortunately, due to eyewitness accounts, the driver was identified and the vehicle was impounded in the village of Ranchito.

Police have not made any arrests as the victim has not yet made a statement due to the severity of his injuries.
