By BBN Staff: On the night of July 11, Michael Tesecum, 41, was shot three times to his body while walking on Tibruce street in Belize city.
On Saturday police arrested and charged his neighbor, a man almost half Tesecum’s age, in connection with the shooting.
The accused Richard O’neal, 22, was charged with ‘attempted murder’, ‘dangerous harm’ and ‘use of deadly means of harm’.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Alejandro Cowo, told the press today that the motive behind the murder was caused by a minor dispute.
“It was a minor thing between them but it escalated to him being shot,” he said.
The accused is no stranger to the law. In August 2016 he was arraigned for assaulting two men with a firearm.
The status of that case is unknown.
