PM Barrow invites Taiwan’s President to Belize

By BBN Staff: Belize’s Prime Minister Dean Barrow has extended an invitation to the President of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Her Excellency Tsai Ing-wen to visit Belize.

President Tsai has accepted the invitation and is scheduled to arrive in the country on August 16, 2018, for a three-day visit.

As part of the planned itinerary, President Tsai is scheduled to hold meetings with Belize’s Governor-General H.E. Sir Colville Young and PM Barrow.

President Tsai is also scheduled to address the National Assembly.

During her visit, she will also visit the Taiwan Technical Mission and engage with the Taiwanese community in Belize.

Belize and the Republic of China (Taiwan) enjoy a longstanding and vibrant friendship since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1989.

The Republic of China (Taiwan) ranks among Belize’s top three development partners.
