By BBN Staff: There were three reported armed robberies in Belize city over the weekend.
The first robbery occurred on Friday, July 27 around 3:00 a.m., at the Waste Control compound along Mile 3 on the George Price highway.
According to reports, the security guard told police that 3 armed, masked men entered the place and stole his .9mm gun, a cellphone, gold ring and a black safe that had $5000 cash and some documents.
Around 12:10 p.m. that day, a mechanic told police that he was at Kevinβs Junk yard located on Cedar Street, Belize city along with his brother and a friend when three men arrived at the place.
Two of the men were armed with .9mm guns and robbed them of their cell phones, wallets and several pieces of gold jewelry amounting to $4,625.
The third robbery also occurred on Friday around 11:00 p.m.
A security officer was on duty at Puma Coral Grove Gas Station located at mile 1 Β½ on the Philip Goldson highway when 3 masked men arrived.The men escorted the security guard to the front of the gas station and demanded that he open up the place.
However, the security guard did not have the key. The men then took the guardβs cell phone.
Police investigations into all three of these incidents continue.
