Hit and run victim dies while receiving treatment

By BBN Staff:  Armando Witz, 31, has succumbed to his injuries received in a case of hit and run.

We understand that he passed away at the Corozal Hospital yesterday evening.

Witz had been hospitalized since Saturday night when he was knocked down from his bicycle.

He was traveling on College Road in Corozal Town when a Kia Sorento knocked him off from behind.

The driver fled the scene instead of stopping to provide assistance.

Yesterday morning the vehicle and its driver were traced to Ranchito village.

The vehicle was impounded and the driver was detained by police.

Charges against the driver will now be upgraded.
