By BBN Staff: The Belize City Council has opted to put traffic officer, Stafford “Chicken” Young on interdiction with half pay after he was charged with drug trafficking.

Young’s interdiction will last until he returns to court on September 12.

On the night of July 18th, he was stopped and searched by police on the George Price highway entering Belize city.

This was while he was coming from the direction of Hattieville to the old capital with a knapsack in front of his chest and another behind his back.

That search led to the discovery of 5,499 grams of cannabis.

As a result, Young was arrested and charged.
