The International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) and the North American Regional Powerlifting Federation (NAPF) brings together drug-free regional powerlifting enthusiasts in America and the Caribbean.

The event which started on August 1 culminates today, August 4, 2018, at the Sevilla Palace Hotel in Mexico City.

After announcing that Godoy won the category, the  NAPF played the Belizean National Anthem.

Godoy was elated to bring home a gold medal and expressed gratitude to everyone who supported him by saying, “This one was the most meaningful. Not a gym thing, not a personal thing, a country thing. Biggest thanks to Hillview Train Station, and Mr. Griffith for being one of our biggest sponsors. You guys are a big reason for us being able to accomplish this. Also shoutout to Powerhouse Fitness Studio for being a  team sponsor. Many thanks as well go out to Mirna Paul-Greenidge and the BBBFF for believing in the team and supporting us as well. You guys showed genuine support in seeing Belize on the world stage.”

With the commencement of the NAPF championship competition, the federation hopes to offer the opportunity for powerlifting athletes from the North American region to enjoy international competition, and to further the friendship between member federation officials and athletes as well as other respective countries.
