By BBN Staff: Police have not yet made an arrest in connection with a Saturday afternoon robbery out west.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvett, told the press today that just before 4 p.m. delivery man, Francisco Monterosso, 29, had parked his vehicle on Nim Li Punit Street in Belmopan.
Two of his passengers had gone inside an establishment to deliver some goods and that was when he was accosted by two Hispanic men. Armed with a firearm, the robbers demanded the proceeds of the day’s sale.
Fearing for his life, the driver jumped out of the vehicle and ran away leaving $7,000 behind.
The culprits then drove off with the vehicle which was found extensively damaged near Belmopan.
Police are investigating.
