Man stabbed dead in San Pedro bedroom, his alleged killer caught by off-duty cop

By BBN Staff: Carlitos Galvez, was stabbed multiple times on Friday night inside a room at White House Club in San Pedro Town.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Police, Alejandro Cowo, the incident unfolded sometime after 8 p.m.

When they visited the crime scene they met an off-duty cop who reported that he heard a commotion inside a room which Galvez lived.

When he looked outside he saw a man identified as Gilberto Chanek running away with a knife and blood on his clothing.

After a struggle, the off-duty cop was able to subdue and disarm Chanek.

The officer then went to assist Galvez who was shirtless at the time but he was already motionless.

As a result on Saturday police charged Chanek with the murder of Galvez.

Police have not yet established a motive for the murder.

However, while they seek to do so they are faced with a dilemma. That is because the family of Chanek claims he is mentally deranged but police are yet to verify this claim.
