Frank Smith detained for aggravated burglary

BBN Staff: Police have detained Frank Smith pending an investigation into an aggravated burglary on Campus Avenue in Belize City.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Alejandro Cowo, sometime after 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday officers responded to calls at apartment #7 at Campus Avenue.

When they arrived they saw Rosa Sorilla suffering from a cut wound to the head.

She told officers that she was inside her home when someone knocked on her door. When she opened the door, she saw two men one of whom was armed with a firearm.

The armed man began to hit her in the head while the other man stole her jewelry, laptop, and other valuables.

Police investigations revealed that three other adjacent apartments had been burglarized but tenants were not home.
