Department of Environment implements air quality monitoring training

BBN Staff:  The Department of Environment (DOE) is implementing various activities to reduce the threats to Belize’s environment.

The DOE is entrusted with the protection of the country’s environment from all sources of pollution including land, water, air, and noise.

 As Belize develops, the risk/threat of air pollution increases.

As such, the DOE has recently contracted a consultant to strengthen the capacity of Belize’s air quality monitoring capabilities.

 The consultant will review and interpret air quality dataset from Belize, prepare a national air quality monitoring programme, and train government, nongovernment, tertiary level educators, and private sector personnel on air quality monitoring principles.

The training will be held on August 15 & 16, 2018 at the Jaguar Creek Belize conference room at Mile 42 on the Hummingbird Highway, Stann Creek District.
