Police say shooting at Courtenay Coye Law Firm caught on cam but no arrests yet

By BBN Staff: Belize City police are yet to make an arrest or identify suspects in the Friday evening shooting at the Courtenay Coye Law Firm in Kingspark.

Lascelle Goldbourne Jeffords, 53, of Brigade Security, was on duty at the firm sometime around 5 o’clock when two masked men approached him.

The men attempted to take away his service weapon but the brave security guard put up a fight during which one of his attackers shot him to the shoulder and in his stomach.

He was admitted to the Belize Medical Associates in a critical condition but his health has since improved.

Police say that have since impounded the vehicle used by the assailants. According to police intelligence, the vehicle was seen in the area prior to the shooting.

Additionally, the shooting was caught on camera and the footage will be used in investigations.
