By BBN Staff: Yesterday we reported that a minor and Belize City resident, Daniel Hughes were charged with the robbery of the Caye Caulker gas station.
Well, the matter went to court during which the minor took the rap.
He told the court that he was sorry and only committed the crime because he had owed his brother some cash.
As a result, Magistrate Aretha Ford handed him into the custody of a social worker instead of remanding him to prison.
And so the minor remains on bail until September when he will be sentenced for his crime.
His co-accused, however remains on remand.
Last week both persons were caught by police moments after they robbed the gas station of a cellular phone and $2,000 in cash.
They were both charged with robbery. However, the minor was charged additionally with handling stolen goods, while Hughes was charged with the firearm related offences.
