s Court in Belize city.

The students are from the different challenging areas of the city.

Belize’s Chief Justice, Kenneth Benjamin along with Justice Collin Williams, Madam Justice Sonya Young, Chief Magistrate Sharon Frazer, attorneys Kevin Arthurs and Anthony Sylvester offered motivational advice to the students.

The main objective of the visit was to introduce the children to the Judiciary to see firsthand what really occurs, which in turn could lead to better decision making.

The students also visited the library, registry, jury rooms and the different courts.

The students then participated in a mock trial.  Each student got an opportunity to play the role of an attorney, judge, defendant, attorney, juror or witness.

Sr. Supt. Howell Gillett explained that the new partnership between the community and the courts will continue into the future.

All children were gifted a school knapsack with school supplies and also a certificate of participation.
