Police make no charges in Tuesday night shooting

By BBN Staff: Police are yet to make any arrests in the Tuesday night shooting of Matthew Smith, 30.

At around 9:50 p.m. Smith had ordered a fried chicken at Fibbers on Cemetery Road and was waiting for his food when then unthinkable happened.

Two men approached him from the direction of Johnson street carrying a firearm.

One of the men pointed the pistol at him and opened fire.

He was struck in his right shoulder.

Fortunately police corporal, Keith Cruz, was also at Fibbers and saw what was transpiring.

He pulled out his service weapon and fired two shots at the perpetrators who quickly fled the area unharmed.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Police, Alejandro Cowo, police are yet to establish a motive as the victim is not connected to the criminal underworld.
