Security guard found dead in hotel room in Belize City

BBN Staff: The body of a man was found inside the room of a guest house yesterday in Belize city.

The victim was identified as Allin Anthony Purtillo, 40, security guard from Independence, Stann Creek.

According to reports, Purtillo left home on August 31, en route to Belize City. Purtillo then booked a room at the Bay View Guest House around 12:46 on August 31.

Yesterday morning around 11:00, a housekeeper went to clean the room and found Purtillo’s body covered with a white sheet. His hands and feet were tied.

Police investigations continue.
