Decomposed cattle found near water pump in Billy White; residents concerned

BBN Staff:  Residents of Billy White village in the Cayo district are extremely concerned after repeatedly finding decomposed cattle near the pump that provides water to the village.

Pictures and video of the area where the decomposed cattle was disposed of, was shared with Breaking Belize News.

According to residents, this is the third corpse found in the same area in just a month time.

The villagers are disturbed by the situation since they do not know what is the cause of death of the animals and the water and river can become contaminated leading to serious health risks.

Villagers believe that the cattle belong to a nearby farm that is owned by an area representative in Cayo.

Villagers are seeking assistance from the relevant authorities to investigate this situation as soon as possible.
