Police make no arrests in murder of Leroy Meighan

By BBN Staff: Police have not yet made any arrests in the murder of Leroy Meighan, 22 and have not identified any suspect.

Shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, Meighan was walking from the corner of Central American Boulevard to his home on Pelican Street when he was ambushed.

An armed assailant in some nearby bushes emerged and opened fire at him. He was struck multiple times in the chest and the back.

Police have not been able to ascertain if his death was connected to a string of other shooting incidents over the weekend.

However, they suspect that it may have been linked to an incident in 2016 when Meighan was charged with attempted murder.
